These Terms of Service govern your use of Cozy Apart. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Cozy Apart.
Using Cozy Apart
You must provide information that is accurate enough for us to operate your account, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and use the service only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for making sure you have permission to share content with the people in your space.
Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit to Cozy Apart. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process, display, synchronize, back up, and deliver that content so the service works for you and your shared-space members. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it does not violate another person’s rights or the law.
Acceptable use
Do not use Cozy Apart to harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, exploit, or harm another person; upload malicious code; probe or disrupt the service; bypass security; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or use the service for an emergency or safety-critical purpose.
Coins, purchases and Cozy Plus
Coins are an in-app currency shared by the two members of a space. They are earned by using Cozy Apart together and can be bought in packs through the App Store. Coins have no cash value, cannot be transferred outside your space or exchanged for money, and are used only for optional items inside the app. Coins and items belong to the space: if one member deletes their account, the member who stays keeps them with the space. If a space is deleted, its coins and items go with it.
Cozy Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. One subscription covers both members of the subscriber's space for as long as they are paired. Payment is charged to your App Store account at confirmation of purchase, and the subscription renews automatically at the price shown unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store account settings; access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Cozy Plus includes unlimited movie nights, every house style (the cottage is free for everyone, and a couple keeps the house they live in if a subscription ends), every place you can drive to, camping with another couple (both couples need a subscription), every mystery case, the realistic characters, the things that surround a movie night, and a monthly allowance of coins. Without a subscription you can still watch together a limited number of times each calendar month, and messaging, calls, memories, your home, the garden, the games, and some of the places remain available without one. The number of free movie nights is shown in the app and may change. Nothing you have made is removed if a subscription ends. Individual mystery cases may also be offered for a one-off purchase; a case bought that way stays yours whether or not you subscribe. Cozy Apart does not show advertising.
Third-party services
Cozy Apart may depend on third-party services for authentication, hosting, notifications, media, or other integrations. Those services may have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content outside our control.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Cozy Apart available, but the service may change, be interrupted, or include features that are still being developed. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features and will provide notice when a material change requires it.
Suspension and deletion
We may suspend or terminate access when necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a material violation of these terms. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination will continue to apply.
Disclaimers and limitation
Cozy Apart is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the service, except where applicable law does not allow that limitation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice for material changes when appropriate. Continuing to use Cozy Apart after an update means you accept the updated terms.
